Govt to connect 120,776 households with city gas in 2021

The Joko Widodo government has set a target to connect 120,776 households with the city gas network, known as Jargas, in 2021, spreading in 21 regencies and cities across the nation as part of the government's program to increase domestic gas utilization.
"The Jargas that will be developed was supposed to be carried out in 2020. However, since the budget was reallocated to deal with the Covid-19 virus, the program is then pushed back to 2021," said Wahyudi Akbari, the Head of Sub Directorate for Planning and Procurement of Oil and Gas Infrastructure Development at the energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (MEMR) during a focus group discussion in Surabaya on Thursday (03/12).

He said large portion of the Jargas will be developed in Bojonegoro with a target to develop 10,000 household connections (SRs), Lamongan 5,935 SRs, Surabaya 6,088 SRs, Sidoarjo regency 11,418 SRs, Mojokerto 5,699 SRs, Mojokerto 5,935 SRs, Jombang 6,137 SRs, Pasuruan 5,750 SRs, Pasuruan 7,003 SRs, Probolinggo 5,737 SRs and Probolinggo town 5, 080 SRs, Karawang in West Java 3,053 SRs, Subang 5,488 SRs, Cirebon 4,515 SRs and Cirebon 3,758 SRs.
The government will also develop Jargas in North Aceh with a target of 3.510 SRs, Lhokseumawe city 3,000 SRs, East Aceh regency 5,016 SRs, Banyuasin 6,889 SRs, Banggai 5,005 SRs and Wajo regency 5,750 SRs.
In 2020, the government develops 127,864 SRs in 23 regencies and cities.
