Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik renewed statement on the government's plan to control export of coal to protect the expected rising of domestic demand.

Minister Wacik said that his office was still assessing the total domestic demand which would be used as basis to determine the policy on export control.

"We will control the export because we need to maintain coal supply for domestic market," he said in opening Coaltrans Asia conference on Monday.

Over 2,000 delegates attended the two day coal conference.
