Govt to cut 2008 fuel import

Government is planning to cut fuel imports for this year by 11 percent to 19.08 million kiloliters from 21.47 million kiloliter in 2007, a government official said.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro told the House of Representatives' Commission VII on energy and mining on Monday that government plans to import 6.6 million kiloliters of premium gasoline, decreased compare to 2007 import of 6.98 million kiloliter.

Meanwhile for high speed diesel (HSD) and marine fuel oil (MFO) government plans to import 10.085 million kiloliters and 2.395 million kiloliters from 11.39 million kiloliter and 1.66 million kiloliters in 2007, respectively, he said. (godang)
