The government will decide the date for raising fuel prices in a limited cabinet meeting on Monday, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Dorodjatun Kuntjoro-Jakti said on Thursday.

The government?s move to increase fuel prices this month had been endorsed by the House of Representatives (DPR), Dorodjatun said after a plenary cabinet meeting.

The minister however did not say whether the price hike will reach 30 percent as proposed by DPR last year.

Earlier, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said fuel price increase would not reach 30 percent. It might be only 25 percent or even 15 percent because the government did not want to burden the people, he said. (leo)
