The government will form a special team to study the condition of all power plants operated by state electricity firm PLN, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said Wednesday.
?The study aims to provide adequate knowledge about the capacity of the power plants,? Purnomo said in a seminar on electricity in Jakarta.
The minister said earlier that recent black out in several parts of Java and Bali could be due to management problems while company officials said that it had been due to technical problems at several power plants like the Gresik power plant in East Java, Tanjung Priok plant in Jakarta, and Muara Tawar and Gunung Salak plants in West Java.
PLN?s power plants in Java and Bali are able to supply a combined 12,8840 megawatts of electricity, below the demand during peak hours. (godang)
