Govt to hold tenders for 80 solar power plant projects

The government has changed the tender mechanism for the construction of a total 80 solar power plants across the country. Instead of holding a one-time tender for the entire power plant projects, the government will offer the projects via several tenders, reports said Saturday.

The change in the tender mechanism was made after the electronic tender system encountered trouble due to massive data downloaded by tender participants.

Director General of New and Renewable Energy Rida Mulyana was quoted by Investor Daily as saying that the first tender will be held soon for eight solar power plant projects.

They include the 5 MW solar power plant project in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara province; 2 MW in North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara; 2 MW in Gorontalo; 1.5 MW in Sintang, West Kalimantan; 1 MW in Nanga Pinoh, West Kalimantan; 2 MW in Kota Baru, South Kalimantan; 1 MW in Tanjung Selor, East Kalimantan; 1 MW in Atambua, East Nusa Tenggara.

Rida said that the winning bidder for the 5MW project in Kupang will soon be announced. (*)
