Govt to intensify negotiations on LNG contract extension with Japan

Indonesian will intensify negotiations with Japan about the extension of their liquefied natural gas (LNG) contract, including several cooperation agreements between the two countries, Vice President Jusuf Kalla said on Monday.
"We are making preparations to negotiate various possibilities of the extension of the LNG contract with Japan," the vice president said, confirming the agenda of his working visit to Japan from May 22-27.
Earlier, Pertamina president director Ari Soemarno said that Indonesia aims to ship 3 million metric tons of LNG a year to Japan starting in 2011. (*)
