Govt to issue regulation on oil and gas management

The government is drafting a presidential regulation on oil and gas management with the target of completing it by the end of the year, the Directorate General of Oil and Gas said in a statement on Friday.

The drafting process is involving several academics and officials from related government agencies.

As part of the efforts to gather inputs for the drafting of the regulation, the directorate general has held several group discussions this year, including one in Batam, where the discussion was focused on the need to establish a business entity that will act as gas aggregator. It was followed by another gathering in Surabaya, which was focused on gas pipeline business.
