Govt to launch national data center for mineral and energy resources

The government has scheduled to launch in June a National Data Center (NDC) for mineral and energy resources, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said Tuesday.

"The on-line data center will provide the basis for monitoring exploration and exploitation, and for optimizing the oil, gas, mineral and energy potential within Indonesia," Purnomo said in a discussion forum on mining.

The NDC will also create a focal point for inward investment, for example through administering of license rounds.

"Investors will benefit from simplified regulatory reporting processes and commitments," the minister said.

Purnomo said his office had engaged with PT Landmark Concurrent Solusi Indonesia to establish the data center. (godang)
