Govt to launch new round of oil, gas tender

The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry will offer 24 oil and gas blocks in the first round of 2009 tender next month.

Seventeen oil and gas blocks will be offered by the government in a regular tender, which is mostly located in eastern Indonesia. The blocks include Tomini Bay I, II, III, IV, V, VI in Central Sulawesi and Bone Bay I, II and III in southern Sulawesi.

The other seven blocks will be offered through direct offer mechanism, including Northeast Ogan Komering, offshore West Java; Blora in Central Java and North Makassar, according to the ministry?s Web site.
