Govt to launch new round of oil, gas tender

The government will offer 35 oil and gas working acreages this year including 19 through regular tender and 16 through direct offer.

?The working acreages are mainly located in the eastern part of Indonesia,? Director of Oil and Gas Upstream Business Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources A. Edy Hermantoro said on Monday.

Edy explained that the government would collect and evaluate response from future investors on the 35 working acreages before they are officially offered.

?We will evaluate inputs from future investors, while checking data, model, or exploration concept preferred by contractors, and the situation in other countries. Afterwards, we will choose and announce,? he said.

The ministry will choose an appropriate time to announce the tender, he added. (godang)
