Govt to offer CBM concession soon

The government will offer six coal bed methane (CBM) concessions to interested investors in the coming one or two months as part of the effort to boost the nation?s gas production, a senior governmental official said on Thursday.
Priyono, upstream director at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said the working areas were located in East Kalimantan and South Sumatra, two major coal producing regions of the country.
He said several major energy players, including Australia?s Santos, Anglo-Dutch firm Shell and state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina had shown interest to participate in the bidding. (Godang
