The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced on Monday it will offer six conventional oil and gas working areas as part of the Second Round Tender of 2014.

Of the six working areas, four will be offered through direct offer or joint study mechanism, and the other two through regular tender.

Director of Oil and Gas Business Oversight at the ministry Nuryanto Wagimin said in Solo over the weekend that preparations for the offer were in progress. After being prepared, the list of the working areas will be submitted to the minister of energy and mineral resources for approval. Once approved, the directorate general of oil and gas will announce the offer to the public.

?The preparations will take one month,? he said.

In the first round tender, the ministry offered 13 conventional oil and gas working areas, including five through direct offer mechanism, six through regular tender and two through direct offer to state owned oil and gas firm PT Petamina.
