Govt to open tender for 22 working areas

The government is planned to open tender for 22 working areas in the third week of this month as a part of its efforts to boost oil production, an official with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said Tuesday.

Director of Oil Exploration and Production Novian Thaib said the working areas are dispersed in the provinces of West Java, East Kalimantan, South Sumatra, North Sumatra, Lampung, East Java, Central Sulawesi and Papua.

Novian said the tender will consist of 10 working areas through regular tender, while another 10 would be through direct offer system. Meanwhile, other two working areas are Wailawi field in East Kalimantan and Mountain Front Kuantan block in Riau. (godang)
