Govt to open tender for geothermal project in Lampung

The government plans to invite investors via a tender for the development of geothermal potential in Suoh district, West Lampung regency, Lampung province, Media Indonesia daily reported on Monday.
The paper quoted local planning and development agency (Bappeda) Syaifullah as saying that if the plan is realized, it could help resolve the power shortage problemin Lampung.
He added that in turn it would further help boost the attractiveness of West Lampung as an investment destination.
According to a study by state-oil and gas company, the geothermal resource in Suoh has the potential to produce some 330 MW electricity power.(*)
