Govt to raise Rp850b from privatization of mining firms

The government expects to raise another Rp850 billion from the divestment of its shares in three publicly listed mining companies including PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA), PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) and PT Timah, Investor daily reported on Tuesday.
Roes Aryawijaya, the deputy of state minister for supervision of state enterprises, said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the government would divest another 20 percent in PTBA, another 14 percent in Antam and another 14 percent in PT Timah.
He said that the divestment of the government shares in the three mining companies were in the process of preparation. “PTBA is still preparing the divestment and it will likely be carried in June 30,” he said.
Meanwhile, the divestment in the other two companies still waited for the approval from the House of Representatives (DPR), he added. (*)
