After months of delay, the government said Monday that bidding information on the 10 new oil and gas concession areas offered last October would be available from July 6 to September 20, this year.

The Directorate General of Oil and Gas at Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said in a statement that interested investors should submit their bidding documents by September 30.

The 10 blocks are the Lhokseumawe block on and offshore Lhokseumawe in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (1); the Ujungkulon block on and offshore Ujungkulon in Banten (2); the North East Madura III, IV and V blocks offshore East Java (3, 4, 5); the Rote I and II blocks offshore Rote island in East Nusa Tenggara (6, 7); the Babar block offshore Babar island; the Selaru block offshore Selaru island in Maluku (8, 9); and the Manokwari block on and offshore Berau in Papua (10).

The statement further said that several investors had expressed interest in three of the ten blocks, while 8 companies had bought the data on the speculative survey results of the blocks. It however did not identify the blocks in question. (godang)
