Govt to reopen mining permit tender in 2015

After having been suspended since 2009, the government is set to reopen the IUP mining permit tender in 2015 as the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has completed a set of necessary regulatory instruments, Kontan daily reported on Monday.
The paper quoted Paul Lubis, Director of Mineral and Coal Management Program at the Ministry, as saying that his office was currently drafting the final Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation on the allocation of mining working areas and mechanism for the issuance of the IUP mining business permits.
He expected the last and final regulation would be completed before the end of the term of the current administration, thus allowing the mining permit tender to be reopened next year. (*)
