Govt to review PLN electricity supply business plan

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will review at the end of this month the 2015-2024 electricity supply business plan (or also known as RUPTL) of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN by holding a focus group discussion.
Head of Public Communications Center at the ministry Sujatmiko said on Friday that the review will be made to get inputs from stakeholders and adjust to current power sector dynamics.
Among of the issues to be discussed include lingering challenges such as permitting problem in the efforts to meet the 2025 energy mix target, in which renewable energy is expected to account for 23 percent; and village power supply program which has not been supported by the state budget.
Sujatmiko, however, said that the government?s program to develop a combined 35,000 MW power plants until 2019 remains in place.
