Govt to sign new oil, gas contracts on Dec 11

?The contracts will be signed on Dec. 11,? said Indrayana Chaidir, oil and gas exploration and production director at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
The seven companies recently came out as winners in government tender for the blocks.
They are Tately NV, which was given Palmerah onshore block in Jambi; Elnusa Holding which was awarded Bangkanai block in East Kalimantan, Eksindo Petroleum Tabuhan which was awarded Bontang block in East Kalimantan, Papua Petroleum which was given Asmat block in Papua, Singapore-based Pacific East Asia Resources (Pte) which was awarded West Salawati block, PT Mitra Archipelago Investment which was given Biliton block in Bangka-Belitung and PT Tri Vicindo which was awarded Halmahera block in Maluku.
Indrayana said further that some foreign and domestic investors had expressed interest in another six offshore oil and gas blocks that can be awarded to them not through tender mechanism
He refused to disclose the names of the companies.
Three of the six blocks are located in East Kalimantan, while each of the remaining three is located in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, South Sumatra and East Java.
According to existing regulations, the government can announce its offer for the six blocks via local newspapers, and will award the blocks to interested investors in case no other party express interest in them. (godang)
