Govt to sign nine oil and gas contracts

The government is scheduled today to sign contracts with nine oil and gas companies that have won oil and gas blocks through direct offer system.

Director general of oil and gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Iin Arifin Takhyan said the government hoped the investors would begin exploration activities immediately.

The nine companies are PT Sumatra Persada Energy, which has won the West Kampar block, PT Erry Guna (Bungamas block), PT Commissioning Services Indonesia (Bengkulu block), PT Bumi Parahyangan Ranhill Energia Citarum (Citarum), PT Star-Energy (Sebatik block), PT Energi Timur Jauh (Kangean block), American firm ConocoPhillips (Amborip VI block, Dutch company Zaratex NV (Lhokseumawe block and Benuo Taka (ex-Vico Indonesia oil and gas field).(dino)
