Govt to soon reshuffle Pertamina?s board of directors

The government will soon reshuffle the board of directors of state oil and gas firm Pertamina, an official told Petromindo.Com Monday.

?Pertamina?s board of directors will be reshuffled in the near future,? said Maizar Rahman, secretary of Pertamina?s commissioners (DKPP).

But he declined to say whether the government?s move would include replacement of Pertamina president director Baihaki Hakim.

Maizar only said replacement of Pertamina?s top officials was to follow up on the recent appointment of Iin Arifin Takhyan for the post of oil and gas director general at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Iin was Pertamina?s upstream director when he was given the new post.

Kontan weekly reported recently that President Megawati Soekarnoputri had decided to soon replace Baihaki, and that Gatot Karyoso Wirayuda, former upstream director of Pertamina, would take over from him. (godang)
