Govt to tender 14 oil and gas blocks next month

The ministry of energy and mineral resources will offer 14 oil and gas blocks for investors next month, according to a document made available to Petromindo.Com.

The 14 blocks are Anambas offshore Natuna Island; Tigau and Mentana, both located in the Tarakan basin offshore East Kalimantan; Bangkanai onshore Central Kalimantan; Polewali and Enrekang, both onshore South Sulawesi; Biga and Segaf, both offshore Seram Island; and Amborit I, II, III, IV, V, IV, all in the Arafura Sea offshore Irian Jaya, the document said.

Bangkanai was formerly operated by Unocal Corp, the document said.

The document further said the ministry planned to tender seven blocks next year, including Central Sumatra onshore Sumatra, Karama onshore South Sulawesi, Buton on- and offshore North Sulawesi, Gresik offshore East Java, Rembang offshore East Java, North Bali offshore East Java, Tanimbar offshore Seram Island.
