?We are still preparing the tender,? the agency?s chairman Tubagus Haryono said in Jakarta on Monday, adding the tender would be held this month but the winners would be announced four months after the tender.
Interested companies should meet the requirements set by the agency. They should, for example, have sufficient distribution networks and financial strength to carry out the distribution job.
As in the previous years, this year's winners would be chosen through a beauty contest, he said, adding that the winners would be assigned to distribute subsidized fuels in areas mostly outside Java and Bali which have not been reached by Pertamina?s distribution networks.
For this year, in addition to Pertamina, BPH Migas has named PT AKR Corporindo Tbk and PT Petronas Niaga Indonesia to distribute the subsidized fuels . AKR was given the right to distribute 12,410 kiloliters of Premium gasoline and 90,150 kiloloters of diesel oil, while Petronas won the rights to distribute 20,440 kiloliters of premium gasoline or 0.69 percent of the total quota.
Meanwhile, Pertamina as the main distributor is allowed to distribute 23.15 million kiloliters a year for Premium gasoline (about 99.88 percent of the total quota), 2.31 million kiloliters for kerosene (100 percent) and 12.99 million kiloliters for diesel oil (99.31 percent). (*)
