The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is drafting a new regulation that would tighten the country?s LNG export in a bid to meet growing domestic demand, reports said.

Acting Director General of Oil and Gas I Gusti Nyoman Wiratmadja was quoted as saying Wednesday Indonesia will require more LNG at home to be distributed to companies such as PGN, Nusantara Regas, Pertamina and PLN. ?We?ll increase the gas portion for the domestic market,? he said as quoted by Kontan.

Wiratmadja was quoted by Bisnis Indonesia as saying that the export tightening will among others be implemented by increasing the minimum domestic gas allocation from new gas block from 25 percent currently. (*)
