Govt to tighten supervision on coal sales

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources would further tighten supervision on coal production and sales with the appointment of independent surveyors aimed at verifying quality and quantity of coal sales.
Minister Sudirman Said in his written speech at the CoalTrans Asia conference said that the ministry currently has six registered independent surveyors with a task to verify the quality and quantity of coal sales with 150 mine inspectors across the archipelago.
?The presence of independent surveyor appointed by Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, in addition to the witness surveyor from Tekmira (Research and Development Center of Mineral and Coal Technology) is aimed to help the supervision on coal production and sales activities,? he said in a speech red by the Director General of Mineral and Coal Bambang Gatot Ariyono.
The six independent surveyors are PT. Sucofindo, PT. Surveyor Indonesia, PT. Geoservices, PT. Carsurin, PT. Surveyor Carbon Consulting Indonesia (SCCI) and PT. Anindya Wiraputra Konsult.
There are currently dozens of surveyors companies registered at the Ministry of Trade that also verify quality and quantity of coal production and sales.
