Industry Minister MS Hidayat is optimistic the country's export of mining products would rebound in the second semester next year.

He said that currently the shipping of mining products has started to rise.

"The export (of mining products) is expected to significantly rise in the third and the fourth quarter next year," he told Petromindo.com at the State Palace.

Hidayat said that exports of mineral to China however would remain low.

The government has barred the export of 65 raw mining products since May unless the miner is committed to build a processing smelter and pay a 20-percent export tax ahead of implementation of total ban on all unprocessed mining products in 2014.
