Director general of oil and gas Rachmat Sudibyo said that Indonesia would stick to any production agreement expected to be made at next week's OPEC meeting in Vienna.

"We'll stick to that agreement," he said. "This is the basic position of all OPEC members."

Rachmat said that the members of the oil cartel organization had earlier agreed that it would increase oil production by 500,000 barrels a day if the average oil prices rose beyond US$28 per barrel for 20 consecutive days.

The average oil price over the 20 days to June 13 has been $28.45 a barrel. (*)
