The government will ?wake up? 60 ?sleeping? oil and gas blocks and 54 coal bed methane (CBM) blocks because there have been no activities in the blocks for quite a long time.
Director of Upstream Activities Management at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Naryanto Wagimin said that the government will give a warning to the production sharing contractors (PSCs) operating the blocks to push them to carry out activities.
?The government is monitoring the sleeping PSCs, we?ll give them warning,? he told Petromindo.com Friday, but fell short of disclosing the names of the PSCs and what sanctions would be given to them.
