The government will not reshuffle the entire board of commissioners of the state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina but it has a plan to replace just one commissioner, Anshari Ritonga, with director general of budget at the ministry of finance Ahmad Rochjadi, the Koran Tempo newspaper reported in its Saturday edition.

State enterprises minister Laksamana Sukardi has acknowledged that earlier there was a plan to change the entire boards of directors and commissioners. The government has already reshuffled the Pertamina?s board of directors. But the plan to reshuffle commissioners was dropped

?(Reshuffle of ) commissioners, we will see first,? Laksamana said at the State Palace on Friday.

Laksamana is himself the chief commissioner of Pertamina.

The government, according to Laksamana, will not reshuffle the board of commissioners at this moment because the oil and gas company is in a transition period. Pertamina has public service obligation like provide fuel at a subsidized price to the public. That?s why, the government wants senior officials from various ministries to sit on the board as commissioners.

?Like director ?general of oil and gas for regulation and director-general of budget for subsidies,? Laksamana said. (*)
