PT. Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state utility PT PLN, said its combined-cycle power plant Grati in Pasuruan, East Java, had secured an additional gas supply of 50 bbtud from Wortel field, which is operated by Santos offshore Madura island.
The company announced on Monday that the 50 bbtud gas supply consisted of 30 bbtud from Santos, 17 bbtud from PT SMP (owned by Sampang regional administration), and 3 bbtud from PT PAMI (owned by Pasuruan regional administration).
PT Indonesia Power President Director Djoko Hastowo said that he hoped the Grati power plant would be able to rely fully on gas in generating its electricity.
?God's willing, thank you for all people who have worked hard in realizing the additional gas supply to the combined-cycle power plant Grati," he said.
Previously, when formally inaugurating the first supply of gas from the Wortel field to Grati, Ngurah Adyana, PT PLN's Java-Bali operation director, said that with the use of renewable gas energy, Grati power plant would be more environmentally-friendly and may get the Gold PROPER Award for achievements in using renewable energy.
