Grenade launching devices found near Exxon?s project in Aceh

Several grenade launching devices have been found near the gas mining site of ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia in an Aceh village, an official of upstream oil and gas authority BPMIGAS confirmed Tuesday.

Security officials were trying to determine people who had brought them to the site, which is located in the North Aceh village of Blang Biroun, BPMIGAS? spokesman L. Harijanto told Petromindo.com.

The devices were found early on Monday, Harjanto said.

Earlier reports said that an explosion had occurred on the site before army officers found the devices.

Meanwhile, Exxon officials declined to comment on the matter.
