The Ministry of Trade recently stated it plans to introduce a ministerial regulation to set the guidelines for exports of refined or value added mining products. The regulation will be introduced in December 2013, as the 2009 Mining Law stated the end of ore export to be on January 6, 2014.

?The Ministerial Regulation No.29 regulates the export of ores. But when export of ore is forbidden in January, a new regulation will be needed to regulate on what types of refined ores are allowed for exports," the Trade and Industrial Product Export Director of the Trade Ministry Thamrin Latuconsina said told reporters Thursday, adding that one of the items to be regulated is the price rate.

?What's certain is that there will be no more export cap for mining products that have already been refined or already have added values," he said.
