Gulf discovers gas in Jambi

Gulf Indonesia Resources, a subsidiary of Conoco Canada Resources said on Tuesday that during the fourth quarter of 2001, it discovered gas in the SE Mengoepeh-1 well in Tungkal production sharing contract (PSC) in Jambi province.
The company plans to test the well in early 2002.
Gulf said the discovery is approximately 26 kilometers from the gas infrastructure currently planned for development in the neighboring South Jambi B PSC. (alex)
