Oil and gas firm Gulf Indonesia Resources expressed its interest to participate in the new oil and gas blocks tender, which is scheduled to start later this month.
President of the Canadian firm Bill Fanagan told reporters in a press conference that this was part of the company's strategy to expand operation in Indonesia.
"Yes, we're very interested and we would like to expand our operation both from exploration point of view and we are also interested in farming in the blocks operated by others today," he said.
Several big oil and gas companies such as Conoco and Unocal had expressed similar interest particularly to the six blocks in Makassar Straits offshore East Kalimantan following the huge oil and gas finding by Unocal in West Seno.(Alex)
