Gulf Indonesia names new president and BOD members

Gulf Indonesia Resources Limited announced Wednesday that Paul C. Warwick had been named President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Gulf Indonesia Resources Limited, replacing William 'Bill' T. Fanagan.

The company said the appointment is effective immediately.

Currently, Warwick is President and Managing Director, Conoco Energy Nigeria Limited.

In addition to Paul Warwick, the company said six other new members have been appointed to the company's Board of Directors, effective immediately; they are: Robert W. Goldman, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Conoco Inc.; Malcolm D. Griffiths, Director, Gas Marketing and Transportation, Conoco (U.K.) Limited; Rick A. Harrington, Senior Vice President, Legal & General Counsel Conoco Inc.; Francis H. 'Mim' James, Manager, Finance and Performance Analysis, Conoco Inc.; James D. McColgin, President, Exploration and Production - Africa, Asia Pacific and Middle East, Conoco Inc.; Dr. George E. Watkins CBE, Chairman and Managing Director, Conoco (U.K.) Limited

The company said that Robert H. Allen remains as Chairman of the Board, along with existing Directors: The Right Honorable Donald F. Mazankowski and John R. Sanders .

The company also said that Richard Auchinleck, Marcel Coutu, William T Fanagan, Michael Long, Walter B. O'Donoghue, Dr Subroto and Henry W. Sykes resigned from the Board effective immediaately.

"The new members of the board bring with them a wealth of experience not only with Conoco but the oil and natural gas industry in general," said Bob Allen, Chairman of the Board of Gulf Indonesia.

Conoco Inc. recently acquired a 72 percent interest in Gulf Indonesia as a result of its acquisition of Gulf Canada Resources Limited. (alex)
