?Paperworks had almost been completed and we are hoping to sign the Joint Operating Body (JOB) agreement with Pertamina sometime next year,? said Supramu Santosa, GIR?s senior vice president for administration affairs Monday.
According to Supramu the Sakakemang exploration block is adjacent to its Corridor production sharing contract block and is gas prone.
He added that GIR was keen to acquire new exploration blocks that were scheduled to be offered by the government later this year.
?We plan to acquire two exploration blocks next year and those two blocks would likely be located in East Java,? he said.
GIR is currently the country?s largest non-LNG gas producer with daily production amounted to 83,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
The company is 72 percent owned by Conoco Canada Resources, a Canadian subsidiary of US oil, gas firm Conoco Philips. (alex)
