Gulf Manganese appoints new director

ASX-listed Gulf Manganese Corporation Limited announced Thursday the appointment of Andrew Wilson to the company?s board as a Non-Executive Director effective immediately.

The company said in a statement that from 2000 until 2007 Wilson served as the President Director of BHP Billiton Indonesia, based in Jakarta. Wilson was also a Director of the Indonesian Mining Association and has established strong connections in the region and speaks the local language fluently.

Wilson has a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) and a Masters of Law, with 30 years of legal experience and 16 years with BHP in various legal, risk and commercial roles. In addition, Wilson has also been a director of various publicly-listed companies, including: Herald Resources Ltd, Robust Resources Ltd, PT Resource Alam Indonesia TBK, and director or chairman of various not for profit organisations.

He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a member of the Risk Management Institution of Australasia and AusIMM.

The company also announced that Peter Williams has resigned from the role of Non- Executive Director, effective immediately.

Gulf Manganese Corporation Chairman Craig Munro said Wilson brings with him a wealth of experience with operations in Indonesia, which will be a significant value add as the board and management team continue to de-risk and drive forward the development of the firm?s Indonesian Manganese Smelting Project.
