Gunawan Dianjaya suspends production

IDX-listed steel maker PT Gunawan Dianjaya Steel Tbk said that it would suspend production of steel plate for about 21 days this month pending the completion of process to replace a furnace chimney at its old production plant (plate mill No 1) in Surabaya, East Java.

The company said in a statement that the replacement process started on Tuesday, and will be completed in the fourth week of November.

?During the replacement (process) of the furnace chimney, there?s no production activity,? Gunawan Dianjaya said, adding that during the suspension the company will lose opportunity to produce about 12,000 tons of steel plate.
