Gunawan hopes to start operation of second steel mill next year

IDX-listed steel maker PT Gunawan Dianjaya Steel Tbk said that construction of its second plate mill in Surabaya, East Java, is targeted to be completed and start commercial operation in the latter part of next year.

Gunawan said in a statement that the second plate mill, which started construction in late 2014, will be able to produce steel plate three meters in width, wider than the 2.5-meter steel plate products produced by the first plate mill, thus expanding the company?s market.

Gunawan in September of 2014 appointed PT Krakatau Engineering to carry out the construction of the second plate mill in a contract worth Rp 147.5 billion.
