Gunawan signs $2.8m contract for crane supply

IDX-listed steel maker PT Gunawan Dianjaya Steel Tbk announced Wednesday it has signed a US$2.8 million contract with China?s Dalian Huarui Heavy Industry Int?l Co Ltd for the supply of 20 units of cranes and its accessories.
The company said in a statement that the cranes and the accessories will be required for the construction of its second steel plate mill in Surabaya, East Java.
Gunawan said it is developing a second steel plate mill with production capacity of 1 million tons per year.
The company said in May that the second mill is targeted to be completed and start commercial operation in the later part of 2017. Gunawan in September of 2014 appointed PT Krakatau Engineering to carry out the construction of the second plate mill.
