Gunungbayan expects higher 2013 coal output

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Gunungbayan Pratamacoal (GBP) expects to produce around 5 million tons of coal this year, up from last year?s total output of 4.1 million tons, an industry source told Petromindo.Com.

As of March, the company has produced 1.1 million tons of coal, the source said. ?If the market gets better and weather is good for the whole year, we?re confident to meet 5 million tons for this year,? the source added.

GBP is second generation of CCOW holder with an area of 24, 000 Ha in West Kutai regency. The caloric value of the coal is between 6100-7300 kcal/kg (GAR) with total sulphur content 0.6-2.5%.
