Gunungbayan to produce 4 mt in 2012

Indonesia-listed coal miner PT Bayan resources Tbk, through its wholly subsidiary PT Gunungbayan Pratama Coal (GBP) targets to produce between 3.7 million tons and 4 million tons in 2012 from its Muara Paho mine in East Kalimantan.
"The 2012 production target is almost the same with previous year since Muara Paho is categorized as old mine," Bayan's Director Jenny Quantero told Petromindo.com.
Previously, GBP said that it signed an overburden contract amendment with PT Petrosea Tbk on 26 March 2012 that would increase the volume of overburden removal to 55 million bank cubic meter (bcm)/year from its current rate of approximately 36 million BCM/year.
GBP has a total concession area of 24,066 hectares producing high CV coal with low sulphur.
