The Association of Energy, Oil, and Gas Supporting Businesses (GUSPEN MIGAS) has proposed for additional 21 items to be included in the government negative investment list in the oil and gas sector.
The government so far has only included 4 items in the negative list, said Kamaluddin Hasyim, Executive Director of GUSPEN MIGAS.
He said that the association initially proposed for 44 additional items to be included in the list, but following a series of talks with the government ending on June 25, it was agreed to reduce it to 21 items.
He said that the demand to expand the negative investment list in the oil and gas sector was made by all GUSPEN MIGAS members, which include 16 related oil and gas supporting business associations.
Among of the additional items already approved to be included in the negative investment list include onshore EPC contractor, drilling using 200 HP capacity rigs, FEED both for onshore and offshore, well head, pipe, etc.
Hasyim hopes the government would approve the entire proposal made by GUSPEN MIGAS, expecting that the proposed additional items could be discussed with the Office of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, and later on approved and finalized into a presidential regulation.
