Haixing Nickel to develop ferronickel smelter in N. Sulawesi

China?s Haixing Nickel Smelter plans to build a ferronickel smelter in Minahasa, North Sulawesi, according to Head of the Provincial Investment Coordinating Board (BKPMD) Linda D. Watania as reported by Bisnis Indonesia on Monday.
The US$100 million smelter will have a production capacity of 180,000 tons per year.
Linda said that Haixing has obtained the required principle permit from the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in Jakarta, and is currently in the process of obtaining local permits.
?We?re ready to facilitate and accelerate the licensing procedure to realize the project,? she said. (*)
