Hakuryu 11 rig on-tow to the Balqis-1 well location

ASX-listed Nido Petroleum Limited said Wednesday it has been advised by Swedish firm Lundin Petroleum, the operator of the Baronang PSC, offshore Natuna, that the Hakuryu-11 jack-up rig has commenced the tow to the location of the Balqis-1 well.

The company said in December that drilling campaign at the Baronang PSC had been delayed as movement of the Hakuryu-11 rig from Vietnam was hampered by typhoon which hit the Philippines.

Nido said that drilling of the Balqis-1 well will be followed by the Boni-1 well which will be drilled as an exploratory side-track well from the same surface location as Balqis-1

The company said it will provide a further update to the market on the commencement of drilling operations at the Balqis-1 well.
