Hanson begins coal shipment to Pelabuhan Ratu plant

IDX-listed coal mining company PT Atlas Resources Tbk said that its subsidiary PT Hanson Energy has started trial shipment of coal to state-owned electricity company PT PLN?s 3x350 MW coal-fired power plant in Pelabuhan Ratu, West Java.
?In May, it was one barge of the total 5 barges for (shipment trial), it?s still in progress,? said Joko Kus Sulistyoko, Director for Asset Development at Atlas to Petromindo.com on Monday.
He said that the company will supply about 429,000 tons of coal per year to the Pelabuhan Ratu power plant, but for this year the volume will be smaller at about 337,000 tons. The company signed the coal supply contract with PLN last year. It has also obtained contract to supply coal to PLN?s Pangkalan Susu power plant in North Sumatra.
