Coal mining service company PT Harita Panca Utama has set a target of over burden (OB) removal of 67 million bank cubic meter (BCM) this year, up from 40 million BCM last year.
?The total OB removal comes from our four existing projects plus new projects we plan to start this year,? company Commissioner Ahmad Kharis told Petromindo.com Tuesday.
Harita is currently engaged in four coal projects in concessions owned by PT Harsco Mineral, PT Tanito Harun, PT Tambang Damai, and PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara. The four concessions are located in East Kalimantan.
The company this year also plans to expand into the nickel sector, focusing on the operational management aspect of the project, not the mining activity.
?This month we?re trying to enter the operational management in nickel concession located in South Halmahera, North Maluku Province. But, we could not yet disclose more details (about the project),? Kharis said.
