IDX listed coal miner PT Harum Energy Tbk denied to have made an agreement to supply coal for a 2x1,000 MW coal-fired power plant to be developed by IDX-listed PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk.

"There is no such agreement. In fact, we just heard the news," Harum's President Director Ray Gunara said on Friday. Ray added that there is no communication between Harum and Medco regarding the power project.

However, Ray said that the company will consider any coal supply agreement for domestic coal-fired power plant with any parties. "We are supplying coal for power plants overseas," he said.

On Thursday, the Kontan daily quoted Medco Vice President for Industrial Estate and Power Generation Bambang Triharyono as saying that the company would team up with Harum to develop a 2x1,000 MW coal-fired power plant in West Java, under which Harum will supply the coal requirement from its concession in South Kalimantan.
