Hasnur Group boosts coal production from two mines

Prepares FS for Mantimin

South Kalimantan coal mining group Hasnur Group is planning to increase coal production from its two mines to 2.4 million tonnes this year from 700,000 tonnes last year .

A company official told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday that its subsidiary PT Bhumi Rantau Energy (BRE) would increase production to 1.2 MT from 500,000 tonnes by expanding mining area from 100 hectares to 2,000 hectares. BRE employs PT. Kalimantan Prima Persada (KPP), a subsidiary of PT.Pamapersada Nusantara, as mining contractor.

The official said that production from PT. Energi Batubara Lestari (EBL) would be ramped up to 1.2 MT from just 200,000 tonnes last year by adding KPP as new mining contractor at the mine in addition to current contractor PT Servo Buana Resources.

BRE is located adjacent to EBL in Tapin regency with concession area of 2,000 hectares each. The mines produce coal with CV range from 5,200-5,300 kcal/kg.

Meanwhile, the official said PT.Mantimim Coal Mining, another subsidiary of Hasnur Group which is also located in South Kalimantan, has commenced feasibility study and is expected to start production in 2009.

According to the official, Mantimin has mineable low CV coal of around 70 million tonnes. (denny)
